Show Description for WordPress Post (70 words):
The mystery deepens - Where did the template gallery go? Why can’t I see folders shared with me? Is Google Apps expensive to install? What’s next Android? Kevin and the Hardy boys solve these and other mysteries on tonight’s show. Is it Valentine’s?

  • Segment 1: What’s New with Google
    • Happy Valentine’s Day from Google
    • Explain the logical thinking that Google Engineers did in moving the Create from Template to requiring people to make a new blank document then go to FILE>NEW>From Template ------ GO!

  • Segment 2: Tips and Tricks.
    • I had two friends independently ask me the same question this week (and saw the same question raised in the GAfE-CT forums)... How much does it cost for a school to move to Google Apps? While we all know that Google Apps is provided by Google without charge, there are undoubtedly some hidden costs involved in making it operational in a school or university setting.
Could we have a quick discussion about this on the show?  I think it’s an interesting topic that provides lots to talk about.
    • I would also like to talk about some less than desirable behaviours in the way Drive files and folders are shared with mailing groups (not individuals). This is causing us some real headaches at work. Why would Google make it that a folder shared with a group does not show up in the Shared with Me list? Discuss.
