Have we looked at Google World Wonders before (I may have missed it)
The Google World Wonders Project is a platform which brings world heritage sites of the modern and ancient world online. Using Street View, 3D modeling and other Google technologies, we have made these amazing sites accessible to everyone across the globe. With videos, photos and in-depth information, you can now explore the world wonders from your armchair just as if you were there.

Segment “Ask a GCT”:

From George
  1. Hide the page number on the first page of a Google Doc. Can this be done? Is there a script?
  2. Tabs with dot leaders. I know you can do left, right and center tabs. Can you do tabs with dot leaders in a Google Doc?

My answer (KB)
Thanks for writing. I'm afraid you're not going to get a satisfying answer from me. As far as I know, neither of your requests are available on Google Docs. It's a pretty safe assumption that if you're very concerned about formatting your document a particular way, MS Word has more options. I'm curious about the first question. What style format are you trying to achieve?

What is your output process for this document with page numbers? PDF? You could use a pdf editor and cover the first page number with a white box. Not too elegant, I know.

As for Tabs with dot leaders .... not a feature in Google Docs. I think these questions are important for us to address in the next podcast. It's definitely important to spread the word about managing formatting expectations with Google Docs.

If you want to collaborate--go Google Docs
If you want complete control of the formatting of your document--MS Word

I know many folks who do all the writing and editing in Docs, and once it's ready for printing, they export the Google Docs file as a .doc and then polish formatting in Word.
