- Kodaly method (Zoltan Kodaly) Hungarian, 1945, Solfedge hand signs, stick notation, rhythm verbalization, use of Hugarian folk songs, even though Hungaran folk music is completelly different than American
- Orff Schulwerk, (Carl Orff) German, Begins with basic rhythms and melodies, parrallels Western music, lots of self-discovery and improviazation. Uses percussion instruments both tuned and un-tuned,
- Suzuki (Shinichi Suzuki)- Japan, 1945 String method. All children should play on a high level. Rote learngind and listening
- O’Connor (Mark O'Connor) American violin method around American classical songs.
