Tricia- - “Exploring the intersection of the arts with the STEM fields can enhance student engagement and learning, and even help unlock creative thinking and innovation.” Education Week
- Just presented at NICE (Northern Illinois Computer Educators) Mini-Conference on slew of Creative Digital Art Projects that can be used to teach any subject. Here is my list of resources: http://fuglevision.wikispaces.com/List+of+Technology+and+Art+Projects
- Photo Booth Custom Effects allow students to speak through art-see example
- Use green screen, instant alpha, to let student digitally enter art work to tell a story-see.
- iPad apps like Brushes allow you to digitally import images so that students can easily sketch over them-great for doing nature studies. Photograph a plant, draw it-see examples
- Artist Statements- use a strong light, turn image black and white (and posterize) then students can write a statement about life, their wish for the future, etc. See Examples.
